polka sausage has been providing home-style sausage to chicagoland since 1945!  recently they opened an outpost at fullerton & clybourn called polka sausage & deli.  you can eat it there, you can get it to go, you can take it home and make it yourself or they'll bring it to you and cook it for you or your party.  at the very least it is worth stopping in and having a smoked polish with sauerkraut and mustard and/or a polka "burger" (really a pork sausage patty) with fried egg, bacon and grilled jalapenos on a pretzel bun.  you can "combo" your order and get a drink and a side of either fresh-cut fries or three pierogi.  hey, this place is polish so we went with the pierogies!

for the vegans and those that keep kosher, don't worry, harold's chicken shack just opened #41 across the street!
