covo is greek for carve and lucky for us these folks are ready, willing and able! the design is beautiful, the space is huge, the people are friendly and the gyros are great. while these cousins are usually drunk, stumbling and watching the sunrise when we eat gyros, it is nice to know there is a daytime place that doesn't make you feel like you must go home and bathe afterward (well, at least one cousin doesn't). they just opened so check them out, bring some spray paint and graffiti the hell out of the exterior of this place. apparently it is greek tradition.

ReplyDeleteI pretty sure this place is a clandestine Chipotle operation. I think they use the same metal fabricator. I have to say though, the food was mostly on point.
ReplyDeleteAs for a fav. Chicago gyros joint, it would be sacrilege not to say Athenian Room. Had the gyros @ George's on Damen Ave. last week and it almost gave me a gripper so I would count that out.
